The top 5 reasons we create WordPress websites

April 13th, 2016 / Website Design, Wordpress

38% of the world’s websites are build in WordPress (trends.builtwith.com/cms). We’re big fans here at Firefly Creative, so we wanted to list five of the top reasons that WordPress is our preferred CMS (content management system).

1. WordPress is opensource

WordPress is open source and free from commercial restrictions and limitations. This means clients can use the software any way they choose, and have the freedom to host their website with their preferred agency.

Unlike proprietary CMS systems, clients will never have to worry that changes to an agency’s business model will have an adverse impact one of their most important business assets – their website.

2. WordPress is mature

WordPress is over ten years old, so there has been plenty of time to refine, test, and enhance. In the process it has evolved into a world-class web publishing system.

3. WordPress websites are easy to edit and update

Thankfully, clients don’t need to be tech savvy to make simple changes to content and imagery. WordPress is designed for even the most challenged of IT users.

4. WordPress has an international support community

With so many users it’s only natural that a large, active and generous community has sprung up to provide support, exchange ideas, and make WordPress better for everyone.

WordPress ‘plugins’ are designed to cater for complex business needs (booking systems, e-commerce, reporting functions to name a few). This means business owners don’t need to have bespoke software designed, thus keeping website development costs down.

5. WordPress is mobile responsive

Mobile and tablet browsing statistics are soaring and Google’s latest mobile search algorithm is penalizing websites without mobile friendly design (check whether your website is mobile friendly here) . WordPress websites are designed to be responsive (can cater for any device size) so clients have a CMS that can easily cater for mobile design.
